Whiteout

Either my doctor refilled my prescription incorrectly or my eyes have changed radically in the last few days: with contacts I can barely see out my right eye. However I only wear contacts for snowboarding, and lately each time I've been free to ride the weather has been poor. Yesterday afternoon the top of the chairlift was in a cloud so dense that snow and sky were indistinguishable. The trees appeared as a blot of dark green-brown below, color without form, exactly as they'd appear if I had forgotten my contacts entirely.

Screenshot from the Mt. Bachelor web site: West Village skycam, seven minutes ago. The weather today appears to be exactly the same as yesterday.
