Living in rural Oregon, quite far both spatially and culturally from Washington, D.C., we tend to eye the federal government warily.
Which is why I was endlessly amused by this sign at the federally-managed Lava Lands Visitors Center.
Do you think the building is called the Animal Inn, or were they referring to that hollow log?

Per my son.
What did it sound like?
Whooooooooosh!
What did it feel like?
Cold. The air was cold, but I wasn't cold.
It felt like flying. I didn't feel like a bird. In a hang-glider you might feel like a bird, but not in a paraglider. In a paraglider you're sitting down.
Were you scared?
No.
Not at all?
No.
