When I visited Portland this week, my co-workers asked about my home office. Here it is. You can see the remains of my lunch today: previously frozen chicken nuggets, plus almonds, water and coffee. Also, printed reading material: 1 brochure (work-related), 1 local newspaper (peripherally work-related) and 1 70-year-old edition of Wuthering Heights (for perspective on work).
Every evening I put it all away, because this is my bedroom.

Is that chair where you do most of your work? Is it comfy?
My own home office is a dent on the couch. Recently, I've switched workspaces, and have started siting on an as-yet undented cushion.
This is where I work in the winter: in my room, where there's a bank of windows so it gets to 70 degrees w/o running the heat. The chair is not that comfortable but I have good memories of nursing babies in it ... I sit on a pillow.
In the summer it's too hot upstairs, so I work in my dining room. I just had the dining chairs recovered, so they'll be dent-free this summer.
Beautiful and filled with light. Which is also how I think of you.
Wow, I love your "desk"! I am in the dining room year-round, so I can have views to the east and the north. And a heat grate at my back :)
My desk is in the cellar. I hate it. On the other hand, I don't have to clean up around it, like, ever.
